Series of posters
These are a series of travel posters I illustrated for a project set by Hallmark during my University degree. The project was titled 'What's so funny?'
I decided to illustrate a series of travel posters, focussed on the humorous side of seagulls. How they are determined to steal peoples food and have them as the subject for my illustrations.
Hoping they will resonate with people who have been on the receiving end of seagull theft.
Development work for the travel to series
The project started with the idea on the left. Originally I was thinking of creating a short sequential narrative in the form of a comic. However, after I used digital collaging of my gouache paintings, it led to the idea of creating a series of posters for this project. I later came back to the first idea I drew to use it as the composition of my first poster design- Travel to Brighton.
This first poster illustration informed the following on the colour palette and style I used.
I enjoyed working with digital and traditional tools.
